Wow!

What a day!
We went to the Damo cave early this morning with Shi Heng Hui and one of his student, Chen Men Sen. We took a lot of photos and went to the Shaolin temple.

After lunch, Shi Heng Hui came to our room and told us to follow him...we waited almost 30 minutes in front of the Grand master's office. When we entered, Shi Yan Lu (Head master of the Shaolin warrior monks) was standing in front of me. We began the ceremony...I've been accepted as a disciple of Shaolin, under the name of Shi Heng Guang. "Shi" stands for master, "Heng" stands for the 35th generation of disciples and means pemenant and "Guang" means "broad, extensive, someone who has extensive knowledge and experience. I don't quite realize it yet...probably one of the biggest event in my life! I would like to thank Olivier, who supported me throughout this huge journey.

We finally got invited a second time to the Zen Music Shaolin show but backstage this time! We saw all the impressive set up!

Hope to see you soon!

want to see our tan?

Even if we don't have a long time to go before we leave, we propose Skype to you guys. Free to download and easy to install, this program will allow you to talk with us with webcam and microphone. We will be on internet between 6 and 9 (a.m or p.m) but we never know when exactly.

To add us it's pretty simple ;

Just one week to go!

Day off today.

We had a busy week! We finished the pudao form yesterday morning...it was really hard! I just had some pain in my knee last week but everything seems to be ok now. It wasn't really "our" week because Olivier just had a bad landing on his heel and has been forced to stop the training 2 days and have some rest. We're still in a good mood. Personnaly (pascal), I just realized that we alreday leave in only 10 days. I wouldn't have been able to stay longer anyway (because of the visa) but I would like to stay more. I'm already looking forward to come back. On the other hand, this trip (until now) has been really cool and way better than what we expected!

We begin the spear form tomorrow morning. This last week will be really hard but fun (hopefully). Because of the bad weather lately, we just gonna be able to go to the Damo cave next week right before we leave for Beijing. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures and even videos. If not, I'll post it asap when we arrived in Qc.

Hope to see you soon!

Routine, routine, routine...

Aight!

We are still alive...in bad shape but alive, hehe.
We had hot water this week so everything goes well.
Seriously, we already learned A LOT of new forms and technics. The morning training at 6 a.m is always rough (maybe because jumping up the stairs at that hour isn't usual for us...) but the rest of the day is o.k. (long but o.k)We had some chinese classes so we just begin to be more comfortable with our masters. Honestly, we just see now the importance of the language, because chinese masters use to give a lot more informations when you speak their language. We just found earlier today the huge uniforms shop that I went on 2006!

Because of our visa, we will be back a lot more soon that what we expected. We will be in Quebec on April 11th. We still gonna write on the blog (but don't expect more than 2 entries) until we leave. Unfortunately for now, my usb key doesn't work on this computer. I (pascal) gonna bring Oli to the Damo cave and to the 5 dragons lake to take a lot of good pictures that we will be possibly able to post later next week.

Hi to every of our friends in quebec (and the rest of the world)
and special Hello to Hichem in Tunisia! I heb bak!

Much love

Work in progress

Tuesday, march 17th, day off!

We had a huge week! Almost 3 new forms (very technical) and 2 olds now corrected (Tong Bi Quan, Xiao Hong Quan). Everything still goes well...we're tired but glad to be here. We went to a good restaurant in DengFeng for my birthday, invited by Heng Hui.

I've been sick last week. There's a drugstore at the school...you go there, show your hands and they give you a bunch of pills for 3 bucks!

That's what I had to take 3 times a day...

We have a lot of news but unfortunately...we can't talk about that for now because nothing is yet confirmed.

Stay tuned!

Morning off, updates time!

Allright.

03-12, 10 am here in DengFeng. We had morning off beacause of the rain. We're supposed to begin this afternoon at 2 pm. I finally got a usb key, so I've been able to upload some pictures of our trip since Beijing.

Both of us, in front of the Shaolin Temple!
Yesterday was our first training with Shi Heng Hui. We had a "little" surprise...you have to know that Heng Hui is one of the chief coach for Shaolin temple...so we trained with the demonstration team! Over 30 over-trained chinese dressed in Shaolin monks, and 2 lil' white from Quebec city...To be honest, we felt like if we never done gong fu before! At the same time, that was really cool! It seems that we are the only foreigners who had trained with them. (According to Shi Heng Hui) Right after, we learned the first part of the "half moon" form.
We gonna see tomorrow if it's possible to have an internet connection in our room.
We had a couple of days without electricity and without water...but sadly...we're getting used to it. Anyway, we'll survive, everything still goes well.
A special Salem harikoum to Hichem. And special hello to the Long Shen demo team in quebec!
We miss every of our friends in Qc.
Much love to our families and girlfriends!
Stay tuned!

We're there

Aight!

Sorry for the lack of updates! We don't have any access to internet (neither phone) at Shaolin. We are actually in Dengfeng for the afternoon in an cyber cafe. Lucky as I am, I forgot my USB key in Quebec so I am not able to upload pictures on the blog for now. We are only allowed to go out of the school one day per week (wednesday) and sometimes tuesday afternoon. We spent 3 days in Beijing, went to the Great Wall, Forbidden city, WangFuJing street, Ming Tomb and took the train to ZhengZhou. We trained now for 2 days, 8 hours a day, from 6 a.m to 8 p.m. Everything goes well. We met our connection here, Shi Heng Hui and we gonna train with him!

Feel free to e-mail us but don't expect any quick replies.

I will try to add pictures on my next post.

Enjoy the spring in quebec! (and new hampshire too ;)
